A Week of Whisky Wonders

Starts in Glasgow with superb whisky tastings –  a brilliant 6 night/7 day tour.

  • Day

    1

    Marcus meets you with a dram and whisks you away to the “west is best” coast.  Your first dram can be either at the Clydeside or Auchentoshan Distillery.

    Then via Loch Lomond on to Oban, we suggest The Taste of Oban Tutored Tasting, or just wander around this lovely old seaside town.  Check into your hotel in an executive room with sea views – welcome to  Oban the seafood capital of Scotland!  We’ll have reserved dinner for you, so enjoy.

  • Day

    2

    This morning a glorious sail to the isle of Mull (45 mins), then up to the quaint wee town of Tobermory. Here you take The Warehouse One Experience then time for lunch in a local pub. For those non drinkers, explore the harbour and lovely friendly shops. If you wish, visit the 14th century Duart Castle, home of the Chief of  the Clan Maclean.  Return to Oban and overnight as above.

    3

    Head north today, stopping en route, see  the immense Loch Ness and visit the ruined Urqhuart Castle if you wish. Time for lunch in Fiddlers a great pub cum whisky bar.  Then on to Inverness with maybe a private whisky tasting in a shop we know.  There’s also Uilebheist, the new whisky distillery on the banks of the river. Overnight Inverness.

    4

    We can take you to Glenmorangie, Glen Ord, Balblair or mayb Dalmore (from 2026), chat with us. Return to Inverness, where you stay overnight.

    5

    Heading south today through the Cairngorm mountain range.  Tomatin Distillery, if you wish, Dalwhinnie, where you pair drams with chocolates. End the day in the Victorian town of Pitlochry,.

    6

    Today we can take you to Aberfeldy for a tour, this afternoon maybe some free time. Buy drams at Blair Atholl Distillery (Bells), their bar is made from an old mash tun.   Alternatively, a private tasting at Robertson’s Whisky Shop.  Or, pop in to our Heather Gem Centre to see dried heather made into jewellery, much cheaper here than in Edinburgh.

    7

    Heading south you can take your final tasting, at the French owned Tullibardine Distillery (superb wine finishes), sampling their core range of 6 drams.  Or take a tour at the recently reopened Rosebank Distillery.   For a shorter trip we can or we can take out the nights in Pitlochry, or try our Speyside Tour

You can add on with a night or two in the cities, we’re happy to suggest accommodation to suit your budget or book it for you.
