Testimonials
Liz and Marcus were recommended to our family by friends, to assist us in visiting Scotland from the States. There were five of us traveling together for twelve days, all of us having differing ideas. Liz was very patient and thoughtful when putting together our itinerary, making sure everyone would have the Scottish trip they’d been hoping for. Marcus, our guide, is a wealth of knowledge about important, historical sites, the history of Scotland itself as well as whisky and where best to experience touring distilleries. Liz was able to find exactly the various types of accommodations we had requested and she even recommended the best dining experiences, where we could eat a variety of traditional Scottish foods. Marcus and Liz took care of everything for us and we all are so very grateful to them for helping us have the trip to Scotland we had all dreamed of! Thank you, you are the BEST!
We had a wonderful time — the trip was memorable. Marcus was an outstanding tour guide: extremely knowledgeable both about Scotland and whisky; very pleasant and accommodating; and punctual to boot. We particularly appreciated his on-the-fly, excellent suggestions about changes to the itinerary: Glen Scotia on Day 1; Kildalton Cross on Day 2; Glenlivet drop-in and Cardhu/koos on Day 5; Glenfiddich drop-in on Day 6…etc. The itinerary itself nicely accommodated our desire to sample many different styles of whisky while also touring Scotland. We both agreed that the Spyeside Cooperage was a highlight, so thanks for including it in the itinerary.
July 2024
In July 2024, several of my friends and I celebrated our 50th birthdays by taking a whisky tour of Scotland. What better way to celebrate our love of scotch and our more than 30 years of friendship? After experiencing our nine day whisky tour, we also made a new friend. Marcus, our tour guide, is extremely skilled and knowledgeable about multiple distilleries and sites throughout Scotland. Marcus fit right in with our group, and I truly feel as though I’ve made a new friend in Scotland.
The tour was very organized. We told them a few distilleries that were on our must-see list, and they did the rest! The schedule was flexible and allowed us enough time to relax, enjoy the drams, and not feel rushed. The hotels and inns in which we stayed were clean with friendly service and close enough to the distilleries where travel time wasn’t too long (although Marcus was a fantastic driver).
With 65 different whiskies, over a thousand pictures (I take a lot of pictures), and countless memories, the tour exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re new to learning and enjoying scotch whisky or you’re a seasoned veteran, I would trust and highly recommend Marcus and Liz for your party to have a memorable and unforgettable experience.
I was looking for a custom whisky tour for my birthday. I reached out to a few companies and Liz worked with me to put together a great week in Scotland, touring whisky distilleries and capping it off with my favorite distillery on my birthday. Marcus worked diligently to book tours as soon as the distilleries opened their booking.
We enjoyed the many whisky flights that we purchased from Islay, to Speyside, and the Highlands. Liz and Marcus found us great accommodations and restaurants for relaxed dinners. Marcus was also flexible when we suggested an extra place to stop on the way. It was a great trip, and Marcus was a great host and driver.
A driver was absolutely necessary for all 5 of us to enjoy all of the drams, all week. Great job Marcus and Liz on our customized trip. I would definitely recommend them and hope to repeat this trip in the future.
Thanks for providing a fabulous trip.

Hi Liz and Marcus,
I’m sitting here out on my deck enjoying a cigar and a dram of 25 year old Laphroaig. I have wonderful memories of our time in Scotland. We are very glad we booked our experience with Liz. Marcus gave us some very good insight in to the world of scotch whisky. I learned a lot.
I think he was able to include some sights we really enjoyed and didn’t even know about such as the Glamis castle. The old castle on Loch Ness was very interesting.his suggestions were spot on. The next time I go to Scotland I’m thinking of checking out the Highland and Speyside area. The only negative thought I have is maybe having some tunes while driving around. At the time I probably am at fault for not asking …maybe it gave me more time to ask questions and engage in conversation. Debbie is a bit hard of hearing and didn’t catch most of the conversation.
Thanks for the Memories. If you are ever in the Michigan area of the USA look us up.
My wife and I had a wonderful trip around Scotland that had been planned by Liz and Marcus. It was a bespoke tour with Marcus as our driver/guide that took us over 600 miles. The tour was tailored to our interests starting in Edinburgh and including stops that highlighted the rich history of Scotland, the rugged countryside, the beautiful Inner Hebrides, and the culture of the country itself.
From the time Marcus met us at the airport, to the times he opened his wicker basket to let us sample a variety of fine whiskeys, it felt as if we were traveling, not only with a knowledgeable guide, but also a new friend. What made it even more special was when Liz joined us while we explored the Isle of Mull (one of her favorite places). We left feeling as if we had two new friends and many fond memories of a very special vacation. We would not hesitate to recommend Liz and Marcus to anyone planning a trip to Scotland.
Our group of seven guys who have known each other for over 40 years decided the time was right to do a whisky tour of Scotland. We all enjoy whisky but had only glancing knowledge of what goes into making it, along with how to appreciate the different types. Also, we were keen to tour Scotland a little.
Liz and Marcus were absolutely brilliant in helping us decide where and what to do as well as setting up the whisky tours. We decided to arrange short visits to Edinburgh and Glencoe on our own but the core of the visit was a 4 day trip visiting many distilleries in the Speyside area of Scotland. During the planning stage we exchanged emails discussing our goals and then had a video call to talk everything through. Their tours are all custom/bespoke, so they were willing to take us wherever we wanted to go. In the end, we went with most of their suggestions since they know the distilleries well and which ones offer tastings and which also offer tours.
We toured two distilleries and also toured a cooperage where barrels are made and repaired. We also had tastings at quite a few more distilleries. Marcus was our driver and guide and was also great company.
I can’t say enough good things about this trip. Liz and Marcus were so easy to work with. All the visits happened as scheduled without any glitches. The hotel in Elgin, which was our base, was excellent (and Elgin is good town to stay since there were several good restaurant options). Anyone thinking of doing a whisky tour or, I suspect, any tour of Scotland should look no further.

Just wrapped up a super tour of Speyside whiskies with Marcus at the wheel and Liz in the control tower. We had a super few days of tours and tastings, well chosen restaurants and fine sightseeing – even walking Lossiemouth beach in Scottish sunshine!
A flawless tour, give it a go!!
