On your personalized tour, we show you many Scottish castles, old ruined and inhabited castles and palaces, depending on your route. Maybe find your roots and visit your clan castle.
Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed Scottish castle in Scotland – on the way to the Isle of Skye.
Uquhart Castle, one of our personal favourite Scottish castles, a ruin sitting in stupendous scenery over looking our largest loch, Loch Ness.
Duart Castle, a 13th century, home to the Clan Chief of Clan Maclean – we know him very well. It sits on the pretty wee isle of Mull. Liz has arranged weddings and renewals here.
For those OUTLANDER fans:
Doune Castle was previously made famous for Monty Python & The Holy Grail and Game of Thrones, then latterly as the location for Castle Leoch, the home of Clan Mackenzie.
Blackness Castle, a 15th Century Fortress on the banks of the Firth of Forth, near Edinburgh. It was the location for “Fort William” in Outlander.
Falkland is a picturesque town in Fife, famous for its’ royal palace and the setting for “Inverness” in Outander.
We took Sue and her American family to see and touch 5,000 year old standing stones and had their picture taken inside a burial site at Clava Cairns. The site provides clues to the beliefs of Bronze Age society.
For history buffs, see where the course of British, European and world history was changed at Culloden on 16 April 1746. A ferocious war came to Scotland, dividing families and setting clan against clan. It’s a very interesting visit at this eerie battle site.
